Pantego, Texas is a town found in Tarrant County in the middle of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. Official settlement in the area didn’t occur until the early 1840s when prominent settlers included Colonel Middleton Tate Johnson and Colonel Frederick Forney Foscue. According to legend, Colonel Foscue had a Native American friend and ally by the name of Pantego, who was later killed. Pantego was incorporated twice, first in 1949. After the town was dissolved in 1952, it was reincorporated later that same year.
